💝 Your affirmation for the weekend
I can create moments of joy in my life and creative practice

Joy is a choice that we can make in every moment. Sure, it sounds somewhat cliche and perhaps even a little too good to be true.
But when we’re having an awful day and the whole world seems to be against us, it’s important to recognize that we do have the ability to turn things around. That we can create slivers of fun and joy for ourselves.
Ask yourself, “What are the smallest possible steps I can take to make life and creativity more fun?” Then, pick something from the list and go do that thing!
🐝 Sweet club updates from the Good News Bee
The Good News Bee’s got tons of exciting updates this week!
⚡️ Prompts now publishing at lightning speed
Our content calendar in Notion got a major upgrade this week that’ll save us hundreds of hours of work. (We never use generative AI at any point in our process.)
For each daily creativity prompt, we just need to update 5 fields — and our magical Notion formulas will give us:
The full HTML code of the prompt page for our website
The live URL of the prompt (including future prompts)
Social post content for Bluesky and LinkedIn
Alt text and descriptions for images on the website and in social posts
What once took us hours to accomplish each day now takes about 15 minutes — giving us more time to spend building the Clubhouse.
💅 Prompts page refresh
We’ve upgraded our Creativity Prompts page to include a short explainer of how to use the prompts, plus links to all our weekly theme pages.
We’re also working on an “About” page for our prompts that provides more examples and inspo for using our prompts in your creative practice. Stay tuned!
📓 Our free workbook & email challenge is (back) up!
We recently solved some technical difficulties / platform migrations for our free 7-Day Creativity Kickstart Workbook & Email Challenge.
You may have noticed the button to it in the “Goodies” section below didn’t work in previous newsletters, but now it does. Scroll on and check it out!

🤲 What I’m creating this week
Hey! I’m Mel, founder here at Joyful Creators Club.
In addition to some project management upgrades, I’ve been working on learning the coding language that will let me create secure user accounts on the Joyful site.
I’m having lots of fun, but I’m also like the proverbial bull in the china shop: breaking lots of things. Speaking of, I spent some of this week publishing missing pages and repairing some of the broken stuff.
But hey, I’m taking the kintsugi approach to Joyful’s website: that is, the Japanese practice of repairing broken ceramics with gold paint. Whatever breaks can be repaired and strengthened, in a way that actually makes it more beautiful and unique in the end.
Breaking things, and fixing them, is how we learn. It builds our character and adds an undeniably personal touch to whatever we’re creating.
Hold that thought, though — we’ve got a prompt coming up later this month all about intentional mistakes in art!
There’s so much to be excited about here at Joyful Creators Club, and I’m so grateful you’ve decided to come along for the ride. I genuinely appreciate you so much. ❤️
What’d you think of this week’s prompts, affirmation, upgrades? Sound off in the replies. Your feedback helps the Club grow! 🪴
Until next weekend — stay crafty!
