Happy Saturday, creator! Hope you’ve enjoyed the Indigenous-inspired art this month.
The Good News Bee is flying by again this week with some awesome club updates and sneak peeks! 🍯 We’ll dive right into those first before buzzing through the prompts.
Grab a snack, then scroll on for the goodies! 🍪
🐝 Updates on the club from the Good News Bee
👩🏻💻 Homepage refresh
We’re working on revamping our website top to bottom! Our homepage is freshly finished and pretty polished with new content, graphics, and sections. (We especially enjoyed designing the “Club Showrunner” card in the BTS section.)

Our about page is now also live (where it was just a blank page before… whoops. Just goes to show there’s still a human behind the curtain!).
✍️ Our commissions are open!
By “our” commissions, we actually mean Mel’s (”our” founder and the only human behind Joyful).
With poetry, flash fiction, and short stories starting at 3, 5, and 10 Euros respectively, a 100% human-crafted piece of art from a small creative biz makes a great gift for a loved one.
We’ve already landed 2 commissions in just 1 month of launching (🤩), including a custom-designed digital short story. The other one’s a secret, but I will say it’ll be hand-written!
🤝 3 new partnership programs loading…
Art works better together — that’s a big part of our club ethos.
As we work to build The Clubhouse, we’re thinking ahead about how we might deepen our connections with artists and orgs who share our vision. Here’s a sneak peek at what we’re thinking on the partnerships front!
Indie artist promos: Do you have a small creative shop, service, or commissions page you’d like to share? We’re hoping to open some slots in this very newsletter soon! (And we’d love to hear your feedback about how it should work. Hit reply to any email to share your thoughts!
Affiliate partners: We’re finalizing a revamp of our existing affiliate partnership program, making it easier and quicker than ever to team up with us and earn some cash by promoting each other’s stuff.
Newsletter sponsors: We’re constantly following museums, arts programs, and grant opportunities. Everything shared by Joyful takes great care, time, and effort to craft. We’d love to partner with some of the organizations we’re most inspired by to improve and continue sharing our educational content.
Stay tuned on our updated partnerships program — we hope to roll it out sometime in the new year.
Look out for the Good News Bee to fly by at least once more before we close the doors on 2025. But for now, let’s get stuck into some prompts!
🌈 ICYMI: Recap of this week’s prompts
As we close out November, prepare for December, and brace ourselves for the new year, Joyful’s mixing it up a little with our prompts!
The first couple weeks of December, we’ll include some of our own favorite artists, songs, shows, and more. For the last 2 weeks, we’ll celebrate Filipino creatives for Overseas Filipino Month. And we’ll also learn about Kwanzaa, the holiday celebrating the West African diaspora.

*Small correction: In last week’s newsletter, we said we’d share a prompt on Inca water terraces. While those also exist, we got inspired by the Hawai’ian version while researching, as well as the modern efforts to save them.

💝 Your affirmation for the weekend
When I experience creative burnout, I can take space to care for myself until I’m ready to create again.

Like anything, too much creativity can be a bad thing. Especially if your art is part of your professional work.
If you’re feeling burned out on your art, it’s okay to do something else for a bit.
Enjoy a different hobby. Go for a walk. Grab a bite to eat at your favorite cafe. Take a hot shower or bubble bath. Whatever feels comfy for you!
That’s what this whole season is supposed to be about, so indulge in a bit of pampering. You deserve it.
🎁 Goodies for club members
That’s a wrap on our Indigenous Heritage Month prompts. I’m so excited to keep working on the Joyful prompts, website, and Clubhouse throughout December.
What are you making this holiday season? I’d love to hear all about it.
Until next weekend — stay crafty!
