Happy Saturday, creator! We’ve got lots of updates for you this week, along with our usual menu of macabre prompts for October. Grab your favorite bevvy, get comfy, and tuck into this treat of a newsletter! (You might even find a trick or two… 🎃)
🛑 Hold up! What the heck am I supposed to do with these prompts again?
(…yeah, didn’t explain that very well before launching, did we? Sorry bout that.)
With our daily creativity prompts, we aim to:
inspire you to flex your creative muscles every day — even if only for a moment!
jumpstart your art if you’re ever feeling stuck, bored, or just whimsical
introduce you to new makers and their work, or add new twists to old favorites
There’s never any pressure to do a certain thing, take a specific approach, follow any rules, or create something “good” (who gets the final say on that, anyway?).
Our 7 prompt categories, based on the day of the week, are specific yet wide-ranging enough to cater to all creatives.
Each individual prompt is broad and includes context about the work it’s inspired by, while still leaving plenty of room for your imagination to take flight.
TL;DR? Do your thing — just get creative, as often as you possibly can. It will sustain you through the dumpster fire that is 2025 (and life in general). And if our creativity prompts help you to do it, then we’ll be happy.
Now, onto this week’s prompts!

Your creativity affirmation for the weekend
(Totally forgot to include this last week — whoops!)
It’s okay to enjoy other hobbies

You’re allowed to have (and indulge in) hobbies that aren’t related to creativity.
It doesn’t make you any less of a creator. It doesn’t mean you don’t enjoy your craft. It just means you’re human and you need more than one hobby to stay mentally stimulated.
Fun fact? Your other hobbies could even boost your creativity skills. Find out how on the blog!
🐝 Meet The Good News Bee!
The Good News Bee will visit the Joyful newsletter from time to time, delivering sweet little updates about the club’s progress!
“Good news bees” (aka yellowjacket hover flies) are a lucky sign in the southern United States. Being visited by one means something good will happen to you soon! (Also, our founder’s creative writing website, Mellifera Muses, is bee-themed, so it just felt right.)
Alrighty, now for the good news:
🔗 Every newsletter will now include links to all prompts scheduled for the upcoming week. That way, you can hop back into your inbox later in the week if something catches your eye.
🌈 Clicking a link to a prompt before it’s scheduled to publish will redirect you to a cute little page. Try it out with the links above!
ℹ️ Descriptive alt text now available for all images. Ensuring our website is accessible for all users is top priority for us here at Joyful. Alt text will continue to improve in line with best accessibility and web development practices.
Keep your eyes peeled for the Good News Bee — she just might fly by again next week! 🐝🪄

🤲 What I’m creating this week
Hey! I’m Mel, founder here at Joyful Creators Club. This week, I’m back in action working on the club’s website.
And y’all, I’m making some amazing progress! I’ve set up Joyful’s content calendar to automatically create website code for all our daily prompts. (Using Notion formulas, not AI. No hate; I just don’t use it as part of my process.)
Maybe it sounds nerdy, but it’s a major breakthrough for speed. The coding piece alone took several hours of deep work — now, it’s just 5 minutes of last-minute reviewing and polishing.
Which means I get more time to spend on the hard bit: learning how to create secure user accounts for the Clubhouse, our gamified members-only area.
What are you up to this week? I’d love to hear all about it!
Kinda weird, referring to myself as “we” and “our founder” in the first part of this one — but it also makes everything feel more official?
What’d you think about our third newsletter? Do you like the new additions? Got any suggestions? Hit reply and share all your thoughts. In the meantime, I’ll just be here, refreshing my inbox every 5 minutes… 🤣
Until next weekend — stay crafty!
